Professional Experience

Daena is a recognized attorney handling complex litigation in all areas of her expertise.  She is accomplished in both the trial and appellate levels. Daena represents small to large businesses and individuals in all areas of her practice on both sides of the docket and has successfully tried many cases to verdict in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.

Daena is one of less than 700 lawyers in Texas that have a board certification in Civil Trial Law, having tried a significant number of cases in state and federal courts both in and outside of Texas.  She has spent nearly all of her 32+ years of practice handling first and third party insurance claims (on both sides of the docket).  She spent over 20 years on the same panels for several large insurers as the go to defense lawyer for their insureds and has handled complex first party litigation for the same insurers.  Her areas of expertise cover all aspects of insurance litigation, both in defending insureds and handling coverage disputes, both at the trial level and in the appellate courts: D&O, E&O, property and casualty, maritime/shipping, transportation, product and premises liability, and construction.
