R. Brian Shields, Attorney

For the past decade, Brian Shields as been practicing commercial litigation and real estate law and has litigated and settled multi-million dollar cases. Brian is a seasoned investor and entrepreneur in his own right, which makes him an even greater asset to his clients. 

 

As his client’s Trusted Advisor, Brian assess and evaluates the position taken by each litigant, then devises a strategic plan to achieve the highest and best result for his client. This process involves strategic negotiation, powerful advocacy and intimate legal and business knowledge to achieve the desired result.

 

Outside of practicing law, Brian has an amazing track record in the restaurant space, where it is widely known that most concepts fail. Brian is an investor and strategic partner in nine restaurants/bar concepts, all of which are completely different than the other. Eight out of the nine were and/or are still successful.

Brian is also an investor and strategic partner in On It Home Services LLC, a company that provides a wide range of services to home owners, including all security needs, roofing, insurance, energy and more that they are in the process of building out now.

 

While Brian pours his heart and soul into each of his clients, cases and endeavors, his dedication and compassion spills over into every aspect of his life. Brian frequently organizes and participates in philanthropic work and is known amongst his close circle for friends and family as someone who always shows up when others are in need. Last year, Brian and his friends raised several thousands of dollars to buy supplies for children, rented a truck and motorcycles, and set out on a five day journey to visit schools and orphanages in Ecuador to distribute the supplies purchased with the donations.  

 

In 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, Brian was recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.

 

Before joining Shields Legal Group, he was a partner at Friedman and Feiger, LLP., where his primary focus was Commercial, Business and Real Estate litigation.

 

Brian received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law. He is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
