
Brenda Brown, Attorney
Professional Experience
Brenda adds significant experience in corporate law and finance to our transactional team. With over two decades of private law practice she has represented public and private companies, regulated lenders, start-ups, and entrepreneurs with a range of transactions and corporate matters including commercial lending, real estate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and public and private securities offerings. She also serves as outside general counsel to various entities and individuals handling a broad range of contracts and business transactions, corporate governance matters, and stock and asset acquisitions and dispositions.
Prior to joining Shields Legal Group, Ms. Brown also served in the public sector from 2020 to 2021 as an attorney with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Assistance. While in that role, she drafted and reviewed SBA EIDL and COVID loans and loan modifications for businesses impacted by the pandemic and drafted and reviewed other SBA disaster loans providing relief to individuals affected by hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters.
Community
A native of Dallas, Ms. Brown has also enjoyed giving back to the community here and in other countries through her volunteer work at Habitat for Humanity and other non-profit organizations working on construction projects building homes and schools. She has participated in local projects in the Dallas area and traveled abroad to work on projects in Mexico and Peru.
